ABOUT YOUR ART GALLERY IN TAOS, NM

the inside southwest quarter of sanctuary artistry gallery

#1 world class gallery

#3 stable main location

#1 world class gallery

With no exclusivity contracts, no rent fees, and very low base commissions—while veterans enjoy zero sales commissions—we rely on your support and donations to maintain our gallery functions at their best. This ensures we can serve the artists, visitors, and buyers alike. Our art gallery is dedicated to promoting the arts and fostering development in our community through education & representation.

At Sanctuary Artistry, we proudly honor our local artists by showcasing their unique talents and perspectives! Our multi-faceted approach has demonstrated to our visitors and artists that there is not only a direct need for what we offer and how we offer it, but it is also a necessary opportunity & priority for a thriving Taos arts economy.

#2 community workshops

#1 world class gallery

By melding education and representation, our community workshops and instruction groups have greatly enhanced artist morale, skill, and development..... With the re-introduction of The Jane Hardy Writing Group, we are fostering another small cornerstone for a variety of local artists, contributing to the vibrant Taos arts economy.

Since our beginnings a year ago, starting with that one first artist we encouraged to 'stay in Taos', we have grown into a grassroots organization of 34 artists—and still growing—that provides the essential support that many of our Taos artists have proven a need for.  Our efforts are paving the way for an art gallery that truly highlights the talent & potential for our community.

...JUST THREE EXAMPLES...

**Lila, 90 years old, retired Air Force Veteran and art teacher, was found almost unconscious, no food, water or heat;  in 2 months, she is now walking & eating.

**Betty, Navy Veteran, homeless and living and painting out of her van, no address, no food stamps...her works selling in gallery is her lifeline to life, civility & productivity.

**Daniel, disabled homeless Army Veteran, gets mentorship and a meal,  whenever he attends our Jane Hardy Writers Group ; he is his own opinionated person, we do not judge,  just help.  A great mind, talented writer and potential as  a great journalist.

THIS IS SHAMEFUL WHAT WE AS A PEOPLE, AS A COUNTRY, HAVE DONE TO OUR PEOPLE-OUR ARTISTS- OUR VETERANS.....

#3 stable main location

While many organizations host art gallery events and then move on, we at Sanctuary Artistry maintain a consistent presence at our location with stable hours from Thursday to Sunday, 11 to 5. We are committed to making a difference through the arts, dedicating 2.5% of our gift shoppe sales back to various local charities.

Our mission is to foster an inclusive arts community, ensuring that artistic representation is not limited to only a select group of buyers  or class of individuals.

It's important to note that for every artist and artisan who stops working and leaves Taos, there is an estimated economic loss of $3,000 monthly, equating to $100 a day. This not only affects our local artists but also has implications for tourism and other interrelated businesses and families. We believe that supporting the Taos arts economy is essential, as art IS vital to the survival of Taos' culture and community!
